What's That?

On Wednesday I got weighed and found I was almost 4 kg!

On Monday I had a very thorough hearing test. I did feel like I was in a Frankenstein movie or something...

Maybe if I concentrate hard enough, something lovely will appear...

I was meant to be asleep for the test, but I woke up... I was a bit worried they were trying to tap my brain...

Oh, and they discovered something very important about my hearing - it's fine!

Playtime!

Last Monday I weighed in at 3.68 kg, and had put on a whopping 360 g in only 6 days!

One of the lovely gifts I received at my naming day was this amazing baby play gym. It even flashes coloured lights and makes rainforest noises and plays nursery songs to me! I think it will take a year to play with all its toys!

My Daddy loves feeding me Mummy's milk from a bottle. I love cuddles with him too!

I still sleep a lot...
I fill up quite a lot of my little bassinet now - I've really grown!

Happy Valentine's Day!

My Gran asked me to be her valentine when she came to babysit me on Valentine's Day (shucks!). I wasn't so happy when Mummy and Daddy left to go out for the evening, but I soon went to sleep after some special "Gran hugs".

Mummy and Daddy had a very romantic night out at the Opera House together. I've never seen them all dressed up before!

Godparents

Here's a photo of my new godparents at my Naming Day. Jessie (second from the left) was representing her mother , Lynda. I was a bit hungry at the time.

Daddy's eldest brother Raymond officiates over the bai san ceremony here.

Gran says her own private prayer...
And here's another cute one of me in my special red "good luck" Chinese get-up for the ocassion. Oh, and Mum and Dad...

My Coming Out

I don't want to sound selfish, but today was all about ME! People from both Mummy's and Daddy's families and close friends all came to celebrate my Naming Day - my coming out into society after a month of getting used to things outside the hospital.

First we had a Buddhist prayer and then a traditional Chinese ceremony making offerings to ancestors and gods. You can see the table specially set up here - chicken, pork & fish, peaches & lychees, oranges and apples, tea & brandy.

Then we made prayers and offerred the food.

Daddy's eldest brother and sister officiated, and burned joss papers.

Everyone had a turn at their own prayer, including my new godmother Jacqui.

Out and About

Finally I now weigh 3.22 kg.

I've been to a couple of restaurants now... Daddy always makes sure I sleep soundly when we're out.

I met Master Merewether and Miss Knight out at dinner.

They were both very gentle and cuddlie.
